Mel gets caught drunk-driving and threatens his career (again) by going on a passionately anti-semitic rant. You hate the Jews, Mel -- WE GET IT ALREADY!

But the (stupid) public's got such a short attention span, therefore I doubt his career's over, therefore who gives a fuck? He'd probably have to *start* another Holocaust before people would hesitate to work with him. (That's where *I'd* like to be in my career...)
